Hearts of The Homeless’ primary goal is to divert homeless women from the street and into housing and homeless programs wherein the ultimate goal is to achieve permanent housing.
Traditional Emergency Shelter provides temporary housing for homeless women for up to 60 days. Hearts of the Homeless provides 90 days with possible extension.
is an “as needed” program operating on the same permissive as a Cold Weather Shelter except we are open 365 days a year which will give homeless women a safe place to sleep at night, place to shower and get a healthy meal before they willingly return to the street. This program is designed for women who are reluctant or incapable of following the rules of a more structure Emergency Shelter program. The night shelter remove barriers and work within the linear model of having low barriers to enter and no limit to the amount of stays. The goal here is to get the women off the street and into Emergency Shelter.
A Day Shelter
(for homeless women and women at risk of becoming homeless) is a Daytime sanctuary and hospitality coffee house setting which will provide 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) free of charge from the hours of (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week, 365 days a year). Some of the other services provided: Comprehensive intake and needs assessment, comprehensive intensive and supportive case management planning, psych-social rehabilitation and quality of life programming, comprehensive psychiatric and medical care assessment, referral and advocacy, Job search, mainstream benefits, SAMHSA's SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery SOAR. Emergency shelter/housing referral, a mailing address, use of a free telephone, bus tickets, tangible aid access, clothing boutique, and computer learning center.
